A Celebration!

Sunday was a time of great celebration in our house! All three of our oldest children were baptized showing their outward profession of faith that they are followers of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour! As parents Mike and I have a sense of security in their decisions knowing that no matter what life brings their eternal future is secured. We were humbled by the many numbers of people in the congregation standing to honor their relationship with our family. These people were Sunday school teachers, school teachers, AWANA teachers, Kids Choir teachers, friends, family, and relatives, all who have helped us shape and form Biblical values in our kids. I also thought of the people who had already joined the Lord in heaven that helped form these children. Their Great Grandma Dana was smiling from heaven and I could almost hear her voice joyfully praising their decisions. We anxiously await the day that Parker can make his own profession of faith and look forward to the day when we all will be healed and made perfect again!

Be blessed! Lara

  1. Wow! I got all teary-eyed looking at that! I always weep like a baby during baptisms; I cannot IMAGINE watching three of my own children up there!!!

  3. Congratulations on the baptism - that's cool that you did all 3 the same day.
As for taking scrapbook stuff to the hospital... go for it. There wasn't a ton of space in the ICU, but I still broke out a little ribbon & ny scissors and cut a few things while I was sitting next to Max while he was sleeping. When I needed to use the glue gun or a lighter to seal ribbon ends, I took a break and went to a general 'break room'. I debated about asking for a small table in the ICU, but never did. I used a chair next to me sometimes. But when we get to a regular room (hopefully this afternoon) I fully intend to break out the crafting!

  4. One more thing... DEFINITELY take your scrapbooking stuff to the surgey waiting room. It was so nice to have a 5 hour distraction. And there was plenty of space! I have been carrying around a backpack everywhere we go :) When is your surgery date? Waiting is hard! The day before surgery was the hardest. We'll be praying with you!
